Exhibition took place from
Saturday 20 April to Sunday
24 November, 2024 (pre-
opening on April 17, 18 and
19), curated by Adriano
Pedrosa.
“I am honored and humbled by
this prestigious appointment,
especially as the first Latin
American to curate the
International Art Exhibition,
and in fact the first one based
in the Southern Hemisphere”,

Fondazione Prada presents the
project “Monte di Pietà”
conceived by artist Christoph
Büchel, located in the historical
palace Ca’ Corner della Regina.
The layered history of the 18th-
century palazzo – venue of the
Monte di Pietà (Mount of Piety) of
Venice from 1834 to 1969 and
since 2011 permanent venue of
Fondazione Prada – is Büchel’s
framework.
“Monte di Pietà” is a deep dive
into the notion of debt as the root
of human society and the primary
vehicle by which political and
cultural power is exercised.
Historically, a crossroads of
commercial and artistic
exchange, the city of Venice is an
ideal context for exploring the
relationships between these
complex topics and the dynamics
of contemporary society.
